... Saved by the Bell MUST live on!

I miss your FACE

I started this blog with a completely different train of thought in mind... But knowing me and my randomness, I figure you'll just have to deal with it.

Do you ever have those conversations with people where you're completely absorbed by random flashbacks to the great movies and television shows of your childhood? They are truly great conversations ... and memories. "The Boy Who Could Fly," "Fraggle Rock," "The Gummy Bears," "Captain Planet,"... the list goes on and on.

Most every time I engage in this conversation "Hugga Bunch" comes up...and no one ever remembers it (other than my sister who was pained every time I rented the beloved tale of puppet babies who sang and danced). Thanks to my good friend YouTube, I now have proof that "Hugga Bunch" does exist. I'm determined to obtain my own copy so I'm adding it to my wishlist.

So to all my friends who are far far away (or to those I just don't see enough)... I miss your FACE, and I wish I could just give you a good hug because it is not wise to underestimate the power of a good hug.

O.M.T.H.

I found out today that Urbandictionary.com denied my entry of OMTH on their site... So I'm posting my definition here... Spread it around.

Definition

An expression used in place of the common slang term "OMG" to express a variety of emotions including excitement, anger, shock... and really most anything.
The term's full meaning is "Oh my Tree Hill" deriving from the CW's popular TV show "One Tree Hill" which is full of drama, suspense, heartache and a wide range of any natural emotion one could suffer from.

Examples

"OMTH I can't believe you did that to your hair!"

"OMTH get out of here!"

"OMTH you are the best!"
A Brief History

As some of you know, I've watched the CW's teenage-now young adult soap opera "One Tree Hill" since it's beginning back in 2003. After missing two-ish seasons in college, I became a dedicated follower again junior year in college when the show conveniently aired during my rec center time. Anyhow, my hot little sister, Anneface (lovingly shown below), and I thought it would be a great idea to use the term O.T.H. in place of O.M.G.

Long story short, we couldn't make the transition very well. Conversations went something like this, "O.M. aaaaaaaaaarg. O.T.H." So eventually we opted to merge the two phrases, leaving us with "O.M.T.H."

May I Go Home Now?

We were made to live in his perfect love, we were meant to walk in his grace. And we'll never feel we are home again until we see him face to face.
-Claire Cloninger

Ok so I know it rhymes and is a slightly cheesy quote, but this has been on my mind a lot lately. I am constantly reminded how much life just really stinks. I get tired, and I mess up...repeatedly. We all do. I hate tears and I hate it when people are not real. Can we just be done with this already God? My heart aches for Heaven.

Back From Who Knows Where

Well faithful followers... I'm back. From where you ask? I don't know. Life is crazy, and the days when I kind of had something to write, it just didn't come out. This is my ramble about blogs. I think I struggle blogging because I feel like I should always have something profound to say, but I don't always feel that way.

In other news, this is my life update.

On the job front, I completed my contract at the University last week. I'll probably continue to work there for a bit until something else comes through. I've applied to all kinds of positions all around the country. The job market is really tough right now. Ug.

I'm still involved with the Young Adult Group at Cole, and I love it. Actually now that I think of it, I spend a considerable amount of time at church related activities. We're also working on a community garden project, and I found out tonight I'll be heading up the decoration committee for our VBS. This year's VBS theme is something about outer space... I'm gearing up to wrap everything in tin foil ;o)

Everyone else keeps leaving me...most recently Syd who left for Modesto earlier this month. I'm very excited for her new position with Habitat For Humanity/Americorp, but I also miss her... along with the rest of the Sisterhood. Luckily, some of them are coming back. I can't believe one year has passed since graduation. Life does get busier and more complex. Some pretty sticky situations have come up lately (combined with the stress of job hunting) that have left me exhausted. I wake up in the morning, stretch, and with a big yawn say, "Ok God, this is Your day."

Christmas party and such

Ok people. I apologize for my MIA business... I don't know where the time went. I would like to partially blame my absence on the fact that my computer had some serious mental problems and has now taken a perminate leave of absence. Yes, that is correct. It is well out of commission, and my new computer has arrived. After much deliberation and stewing and ongoing calls to several technically-saavy males... I've made a purchase: my very own espresso brown Dell Inspiron 1525 15.4" laptop complete with an intel core 2 duo processor and such. There are several other specs that I could quote to you, but I'd hate to bore you.

Anyhow, my goal with this post was to let you all know that I am alive and well. I am just busy, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to really post again. I have Bible study tomorrow night, so it might be Thursday unless other plans take over that. And it most likely won't be Friday because the girls are throwing a large Christmas bash. This will bring joy to your hearts if you are gone and missing The Sisterhood. We decided to host a party and encourage attendees to dress up to "embody Christmas" meaning ugly Christmas sweaters, Rudolf noses, angel wings and full-out Joseph and Mary costumes are HIGHLY encouraged! ... And we have a prize... we made it tonight. We will post pictures.

Speaking of pictures, I actually have many pictures that I need to post. I was going to do a whole Thanksgiving "thankful for" blog post, but I never got around to it. So there will be that... but later.

Bye for now faithful readers~
